New Addition to Waterpolo Staff Boone High
School athletics is proud to announce that Brittany Toro will be joining our
Water Polo coaching staff for 2018. Toro played water polo all through high
school, and continued on to play at the division 1 collegiate level at Iona
College. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in psychology from Iona, and is
now continuing her education in a Masters program for Mental Health Counseling
at Rollins College. The sport of water polo has provided her with many
irreplaceable experiences and opportunities along with valuable, lifelong
friendships. Water polo has helped her develop and strengthen certain skills
such as time management, responsibility, commitment, and working with a team,
that have positively influenced all aspects of her life. Through coaching
at Boone High School, she hopes to provide young student athletes with the same
foundation, opportunities, and skills that she gained through water polo. In
doing this, she believes that it will potentially inspire athletes to apply
those skills in their daily life, and empower them to reach their full
potential in all aspects. Brittany is passionate about eliminating the stigma
towards mental health, and after she graduates with her masters degree, she
would like to continue empowering others, advocate for marginalized groups, and
help clients realize their strengths, potential, and abilities to reach their
desired goals. Water Polo
Preseason kicks off Wednesday January 17th, with tryouts beginning
Monday January 22nd. |
