Braves Show Tenacity and Character in Tough Loss to Top Ranked Bishop Moore
9/1/2017 11:26:00 AM
The Lady Braves JV and Varsity teams hosted The Bishop Moore Hornets on Thursday Night for a non-conference match-up.  The JV team playes strong from the start and swept the Hornets 2 games to 0.  JV players Tori Auer, Emma Knapp and Alyanah Fennell had stand-out performances.  The Varsity Braves then took the court to face-off against the top-ranked Varsity Hornets, falling 3 games to 0.  Despite the great skill and control of the match from Bishop Moore, the Lady Braves played with perseverance and heart, giving their best from first to last point.  Great leadership and performances came from Juniors Lily Baker (1 ace, 2 kills, 7 assists, 4 digs) and Ashlynn Daley (2 aces, 3 kills, and 8 digs) who played the entire match, as well as Senior Erin Carter (6 kills, 4 digs) and Junior Kestae Alexander (12 digs and 20 service receptions).  Teamwork and relentless effort in this match-up showed tremedous potentioal in this match-up, and suggest great things to come from the squad as they head into this weekend's Lake Highland Prep Showcase, and the rest of the season.

Next week, the JV and Varsity Braves play at home against Oak Ridge on Wed. 9/6.  All 3 teams travel to take on Timber Creek on Thursday 9/7.
