Swarming Defense

Varsity Football Falls to Apopka; Freshmen/JV Sweep University

Last Friday night, the varsity football team played a hard-fought game against Apopka, eventually falling by a score of 21-1. Senior kicker Jonathan Delucca kicked a 48-yard field goal and running back Dai One Creal added an 8-yard touchdown run. The real stars of the night however, was the defense. Senior Devonte Booker had 18 tackles and pass breakup, Jay Swegheimer added 10 tackles and 2 forced fumbles and Alex Chuilli had 10 tackles as well. Senior Jack Dixson had 8 tackles and 1 interception for the Braves. 
The varsity team has Friday night off this week for the bye, and return next Thursday for their first home game on Homecoming.

On Monday night, in a rescheduled contest, the freshmen team picked up their first win of the season. They defeated University H.S. 14-0, with both scores coming from pass plays from quarterback CJ DuChene to reciever Aiden Capuano. The defense was led by Corbin Davis's interception and a fumble recovery by Justin Holifield.

The JV team dominated the Cougars on Monday night, winning 40-0.

The freshmen and JV teams return to action Thursday night, playing at Edgewater. Game times are 6:00 and 7:30.
