3/3/2018 8:39:00 AM

The Boy’s Braves Lacrosse Squads are off to promising starts to the 2018 campaign. After rocky starts for both Varsity and JV at Bishop Moore, losing 0-18 and 1-15, respectively, both squads would then travel to Lake Mary to take on the defending FHSAA Final Four Finalists. JV was victorious, defeating the JV Rams handedly, 8-3. Varsity suffered a defeat, 9-7, but performed admirably. After losing starts to injuries at Bishop Moore, the Varsity Braves were able to gel and give Lake Mary a tough and uncomfortable outing. Against the Rams, Senior Jack Reddeck led the charge with two goals and two assists for four points.

After starting season a 0-2, the fortune for the Braves would turn, as JV was able to handle Seminole High School for their second win of the year, 17-1. The Varsity Braves would take on another opponent in the Seminoles; they won 11-8. The Braves would never trail in the game. Again, leading the way was the senior, Reddeck, with a game-high seven goals. Senior Sean Walsh also found the score sheet and notched two of his own goals and dominating at the faceoff X, winning 16 on them.

The Boys would finally find themselves opening up their Metro and District play against Lake Nona, here on the Reservation. Improving to 2-2 on the year, the Braves won in a dominating fashion, 15-3. Walsh had two goals and two assists for four points, while fellow Senior Jaiden Corrente exploded for four goals and three assists for a game high seven points.

The Braves have improved to 2-2 (1-0 D, 1-0 M), while JV improves to 2-1, and return to action Friday, March 2, when both Varsity and JV travel to Seminole County foe Lake Brantley High School to duel with the Patriots.
