Baseball Wins District Championship Over Dr. Phillips
5/5/2018 12:34:00 PM
The Braves baseball team rallied twice on Friday, and won in the bottom of the 7th inning to claim the District Championship against Dr. Phillips.
Senior Austin Noble had 3 runs batted in, including the game-tying double in the 7th inning, to lead the way for Boone. With two outs, and facing a 3-2 count, Clayton Powell battled for a walk to drive in the game-winning run. Shortstop Miguel Larreal added 3 hits.
Outstanding plays in the outfield by Christian Amlong and Jack Dixson helped keep the Braves within striking distance during the latter part of the contest.
Edgardo Alvarez came away with the win, his second in two days.
The Braves will now play in the Regional Quarter-Final game against Olympia on Tuesday, May, 8th. First pitch is at 4:00 and tickets are $7 at the gate.
Please be aware that all spectators should use the student parking lot off Mills Avenue that day. The Wadeview parking lot is not a viable location to park, since the City of Orlando is enforcing it's "pass-only" rule, which extends to 11:00 p.m. each night.
