The Braves Freshman football lost a tough game against the Timber Creek Wolves last night 7-0. The Braves were led by DJ Jones on offense and Clay Alexander on defense. The Freshman Braves are back in action next Thursday at home against the Winter Park Wildcats.

The Junior Varsity Braves continued their winning ways Wednesday night by beating Timber Creek 14 to 13.  Boone’s JV team played iron man football by dressing only 21 players.

The Brave’s controlled the first half by scoring on their first two possessions  and driving down to Timber Creek’s 3 yard line before fumbling. The defense did their job by stuffing the Wolves running game and shutting them out.

In the second half momentum changed and Timber Creek’s running backs started to find some running room.  The Wolves’ closed the gap to 14-7 with a score at the end of the third quarter.  The Brave’s offense struggled in the second half but did control the clock in the fourth quarter.  Timber Creek scored in the middle of the fourth quarter to make it 14-13.  After the Braves jumped offsides as they went for their PAT, Timber Creek went for the win. The Wolves’ were denied by a stout Boone defense as the they were stuffed from the 1 ½ yard line.

Most of the Braves played both ways but Dillon Avery, Aaron Bullock, and Adam Renish rarely came off the field.

In a venue change, the JV and Freshmen football games, originally scheduled for Winter Park H.S. on Thursday, Oct. 20, have been moved to Boone. The date and times will remain the same.
