Braves East Metro Conference Runner-Ups/Bradshaw Named Most Outstanding Wrestler at Tournament

On February 8th the Braves Varsity Wrestling team competed in the Metro East Championships. The Braves were paced to a 2nd place finish behind tournament champions Jayden Bradshaw, Lucas Rodriguez, and Gage VanKuilenburg. After navigating through the toughest weight class in the tourney, Jayden Bradshaw was voted by the head coaches as the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Lucas remained undefeated on the season, improving to 34-0. Gage won his first tournament of the year in dominating fashion, earning bonus points in every match, including a major decision victory in the finals. Also placing for the Braves were Noel Soto, Andrew Fletcher, Adam Renish (all 3rd place) and Grant Linnemann, Daniel Bass, and Ezequel Rivera (all 4th place). The Braves will look to bring home its first post season trophy in 23 years on February 15th at the 3A-4 District Championships at Cypress Creek High School. Wrestling begins at 11am.
