Varsity Volleyball Takes the 'W' on Senior Night

The Boys Varsity Volleyball team celebrated their 6 Seniors for Senior Night at their match on Wednesday against the Oak Ridge Pioneers.  Both JV and Varsity finished triumphant after nail-biting matches and great performances by both teams.  The JV team started the night with a 2-1 victory over Oak Ridge with a close match.  They were led by top performances from Jeremiah Folks, Jackson Partlow, Tristan Wade and Matthew Lynxwiler.  

The Varisty team took the court after a Senior Night celebration and ceremony, honoring the 6 Seniors.  The Braves got off to a slow start, losing the first set 16 to 25, but made quick work of the Pioneers in set 2, winning 25-13.  In game 3 of the match, Oak Ridge rallied with great serving and hustle, besting the Braves 25 to 20.  Boone answered back once again, taking out the Pioneers in the 4th set 25 to 22, and pushed the match into the 5th and final game.  The Braves got off to a good start, pulling out ahead early in set 5, but great hustle and serving from the Pioneers brought them back to a tye score of 11 to 11.  The final points of the match were a battle between the two teams, point for point as they pushed to win by 2.  A nail-biting finale saw the Braves overcome the Pioneers, winning 19-17 and taking the match 3 to 2.  Senior Setter and Captain Karl Schaefer led the charge in this intense match-up finishing the night with 32 assists, 9 kills and 8 digs.  Senior Middle Parker Blanchard was a force at the night, dominating with 11 kills and 9 blocks.  Other notable performances were had by Joshua Taylor, Douglas Page, Liam Duffy, and Brett Maneri.  The Braves now sit at a season record of 9-9, with a conference record of 4-2.  Both JV and Varsity take on Olympia at Olympia in a non-conference match on Thursday.
